Yesterday and Today…
I agree with Dan, it is time to get back into this thing. Election season really zapped me! I found it quite stressful, intense, and all encompassing for months and months on end. After November 5th, I was completely zapped. Then, came finals and finally a well deserved break!
I’m finally back in the game and I think it really is time to turn the page.
I woke up at around 8:54 or so this morning and realized, “The inauguration is on.”
I turned to CSPAN and watched Aretha Franklin’s performance, Joe Biden get sworn in, Obama’s swearing in, and then the inaugural address. I also watched the benediction and the poetry reading as well.
My favorite event and speech was the benediction, though. I mean that as no insult to Obama. I liked Obama’s speech, but that Reverend nailed his benediction. While I wasn’t crazy about the poem that was read, it was a nice inauguration overall.
Not to sound ominous, pessimistic, or a kill joy, but in response to Obama’s speech:
We’ll see.
Color me cautiously optimistic. ;)
